Difference Between KPO and BPO

Difference Between KPO and BPO

Knowledge Process Outsourcing can be totally different from Business Process Outsourcing profession.
KPO requires people with professional knowledge. They need to be extremely skilled and experts as they deal with more dextrous (professional) work, experience is also indispensable.
Whereas BPO industry requires less skilled employees (not necessarily be experts but should have competency), but with good communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
BPO is more about volume, mass, proficiency.
The core difference is that BPO demands labour and finely skilled employees while KPO requires highly skilled employees in the work that is been outsourced for example MBAs, doctors and competency engineers.
The difference between BPO and KPO can be elaborated when analysed on the bases of the financial difference, the salaries of KPO employees are doubtlessly much higher than BPO employees.

Now let's talk about the services -
BPO provides services like customer care, technical support through voice operations/processes, tele-marketing, sales, etc.

KPO provides in-depth knowledge, expertise and analysis on complex areas like Legal services, Business and Market Research, etc.
BPO requires employees with good communication skills whereas KPO involves skill and expertise of knowledge workers with excellent educational background.
